DENVER – Pack the car – it’s time for a road trip.
With its abundance of scenery and great drives, Colorado is the 10th best state for taking summer road trips, according to WalletHub.
What makes a state a great road trip destination? WalletHub looked at nearly two dozen different metrics to come up with its list, including the cost of gas and lodging, the quality of roads and bridges, population density, amount of park land, weather and number of attractions.
Based on those criteria, the West is clearly where it’s at: Six of the top 10 states are in the western half of the United States. Oregon came in at number one, followed by Utah and Washington.
