DENVER (AP) — Flags in Colorado have been lowered in honor of those killed in Saturday's shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

Gov. John Hickenlooper says Colorado flags will remain at half-staff at public buildings through sunset on Wednesday.

In announcing the move, he called the shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue "purely tragic" and said everyone must be able to live in peace and worship in total freedom without fear of discrimination or violence.

In a statement, congressman Doug Lamborn said there was no place for violence and anti-Semitism in America and asked God to bless those mourning and the first responders.
