The Colorado Classic promises that the 2019 bike race will feature its most competitive field yet.
The 2019 Colorado Classic, a standalone pro women’s road race presented by VF Corporation, is scheduled for Aug. 22-25 and will take competitors on a challenging four-stage course through Steamboat Springs, Avon, Golden and Denver. The race is described on its website as “a movement to inspire women, challenge and redefine female professional cycling, and ultimately, empower women of all ages to break the mold, and fight for their goals.”
The race will feature five international and four top-20 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) women’s elite teams, according to organizers.
The team roster at this year’s Colorado Classic includes:

RPM Events Group, which organizes the race, offers financial support to women at this year’s event, including a prize purse that is almost four times the 2018 women’s purse, plus support for team expenses. Livestreaming will be available through the race’s Facebook page and Tour Tracker mobile app.
Sara Poidevin of Rally/UHC Cycling won the race in 2017 and said it’s encouraging to have the event show off their support of women’s racing.
“Having a livestream is a great way to showcase women's racing and helps provide sustainability for the event,” she said. “I'm looking forward to seeing the new courses. Any race at altitude adds another level of difficulty and makes for good, hard racing.”
Livestreaming is available through the race’s Facebook page and Tour Tracker mobile app.
Organizers announced in December that it would drop the men’s races for the 2019 competition.
