DENVER – CenturyLink is moving out of the downtown Denver skyscraper that once bore its logo.
The company said it’s moving its employees from leased space at 1801 California Street to company-owned office space as part of its long-term strategy.
The move affects about 250 workers, who will be out of the building by April 14.
A spokesman for CenturyLink said those employees would be moving to either of two company-owned spaces downtown or the company’s regional offices in Littleton.
“We continue to have a very strong presence in Denver and a commitment to supporting the community,” Brandon Yergey said.
1801 California is Denver’s second-tallest building and it once carried the CenturyLink name and logo, but those signs came down in 2015 when financial services company Transamerica took over a large portion of the building. In February, Transamerica announced plans to hire an additional 200 employees this year at its downtown offices.
