CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Rachael Stone decided to start her kids' clothing business, Macy Kate Boutique, to bring in some extra cash for her family of four. In just two years, her business has boomed.

"We did 4,000 pieces of clothing last month alone," she explained.

Stone quickly needed to hire help to keep up with demand. That's when she had another idea: to exclusively hire stay-at-home moms.

"I wanted to hire people who were in the same position I was in," she said. "Daycare is too expensive for a lot of people. I wanted to offer something to a mom who has to stay home."

Stone has 28 cutters and seamstresses on her team, including a few grandmas.

Alyssa Chadwick found Macy Kate Boutique through Facebook. First, she was just interested in the clothes for her 2-year-old daugher, but it didn't take long before Rachael hired her.

Alyssa is a single mom and dad has never been in the picture.

"I wanted to do my part and bring in some income, but that just wasn't in the cards for me because I couldn't afford daycare," she said. "Working for Rachael has been a wonderful blessing for my family."
