ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — In January 2016, Molei Wright was in a horrific car crash over Kenosha Pass. For months, machines kept her alive and doctors weren't sure she'd survive. But she's defied the odds and is now finishing a book about her miraculous recovery.
Denver7 first started following Molei's story when she was still in the hospital. The miracles started the summer after the crash: Despite being given a 1% chance at survival, Wright left the hospital in a wheelchair. However, doctors told her she may never walk again.
She was determined to prove them wrong. She learned how to walk, eat and talk again. By February 2018, she was back on skis.
More than four years later, she's walking again and living a life that she wasn't guaranteed.
"Always have hope," Wright said. "Just know that you can do it."
Wright said she is just about finished writing a book about her recovery. She hopes her story on paper will inspire others.
"Even if someone says you can't do it, prove them wrong," Wright said.
Wright has launched a crowdfunding account to help get her new book published.
"I want my readers to see that anything is possible," Wright said.
