THORNTON, Colo. — More than 30 people have been displaced and three were transported to a hospital after a bush fire spread to a condominium late Monday evening.

A spokesperson with the Thornton Fire Department said a bush fire led to a building fire at the Viewpoint Condominiums at 10211 Ura Lane. The fire damaged three units and left all 15 uninhabitable. It started shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Three people were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The Red Cross said it is assisting 33 people in connection to this fire — 19 adults and 14 children.

Authorities spoke with three juveniles, ranging in age from 12 to 14, Monday evening about the incident, said Thornton Fire Marshal Stephanie Harpring. There are no arrests and nobody is in custody, she added.

Fire investigators were back at the scene Tuesday to look for a cause.

Harpring said the entire building is still evacuated, but the department hopes to let the majority of residents back today when utilities are restored.
