Imagine coming home from vacation and finding more than $200,000 worth of damage inside.

That's what happened to one family that lives on South Jellison Court.

The damage was done sometime between April 1-10.

The damage to the home, mostly due to water, is estimated at $175,000.

There was another $50,000 in damage to personal property that was in the home.

The photos show drywall that was so saturated the pieces fell off of the studs from the weight of the water.

"The burglars were not interested in stealing any of the property in the home," according to Mark Techmeyer with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. "However, they appeared interested in causing as much damage as possible to the interior of the house."
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the area, or has any knowledge of this crime to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
