LOVELAND, Colo. — Build-a-Bear’s one day “Pay Your Age” promotion has proved to be successful — too successful for some locations.

Hundreds of customers eager to take advantage of the promotion were lined up outside a Loveland store Thursday morning.

AIRTRACKER7 flew over The Promenade Shops at Centerra and video showed the line was wrapped around the building.

Other locations around the Denver metro area did not appear to be as busy. However, it was a different story at some Build-a-Bear stores around the world.

At about 9 a.m., the retailer announced on Facebook that it was closing lines at locations in U.S. and Canada due to overcrowding and safety concerns.

**Urgent Alert: Lines Closed for Pay Your Age Day Event
Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some Guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible.

The chain was handing out vouchers to people in line who were turned away. Vouchers will also be available for members of their Bonus Club in the U.S. and Canada who log into their account by midnight on July 15.

On Tuesday, the retailer announced that guests would be able to "Pay Their Age" to build a stuffed animal, capping at $29, as long as parents or guardians over age 18 enrolled in the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club rewards program and provide a name and email address.
