BOULDER, Colo. — Startup company Bitsbox is teaching kids coding technology through monthly shipments, spanning its reach to 60 countries around the world.

Bitsbox has been around for three years and has developed hundreds of individual application projects. The business currently ships thousands of boxes each month.

“We like to think that Bitsbox and other ways to learn to code are about using the screen as a tool to be creative, a way to make things to bring your ideas to life," said Aidan Chopra, Bitbox Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer.

“There’s all of these amazing coding camps that you can send your kids to during the summer, but they are pretty expensive. Bitsbox is a nice way that you can choose to have a box come to your house three times over the summer and keep your kids out of the summer brain drain," said Scott Lininger, Bitsbox Co-Founder and CEO.

The Bitsbox headquarters is located on Valmont Road in Boulder. Most of the printing and production is done with local companies in Colorado.

Bitsbox is also working with teachers in Colorado schools. The company is doing a pilot program with Saint Vrain Valley School District in Longmont, Colo., learning about how coding can be used in the classroom.
