DENVER — Barnum Elementary School is closed Friday due to a water main break.
Will Jones with Denver Public Schools said the school, which is located at 85 Hooker Street near the intersection of W. 1st Avenue and Irving Street, will stay closed today. DPS is working on relaying this information to parents, he said.
The water main break is on Irving Street between W. 1st Avenue and W. Ellsworth Avenue. Jose Salas with Denver Water said they were notified of the break between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. Friday. As of 6:35 a.m., crews were working at the scene.
In addition to the school, 10 residential customers do not have water.
Salas said they don't have an estimate for when the line will be repaired.
