DENVER – Getting a DUI in Colorado usually means shelling out more than $13,000, not to mention the possibility of injuring or killing another driver.

To avoid the risk this Saint Patrick’s Day, leave the car at home. There are several transportation options for those wanting to safely celebrate the holiday.

Uber is partnering with seven local Irish pubs to offer 50 percent off two rides. Fado Irish Pub, Scruffy Murphy's, Irish Rover, Nallen's Irish Pub, Blake Street Tavern, Irish Snug, and The Abbey Tavern are participating. The promo code is "DENSPD." Lyft is also available as option, but it’s known if they are offering any promotions this year.

RTD is not offering any discounts or free rides, but they are running on a normal weekday schedule.
