Aurora man with cognitive disabilities missing since Tuesday found Thursday afternoon

UPDATE 12:05 P.M. — Authorities say Mazique was found Thursday around noon.


 AURORA, Colo. — Aurora police are looking for a man with developmental disabilities after he went missing Tuesday afternoon.

Jamel Mazique, 37, was last seen in the area of E. 1st Avenue and Havana Street Tuesday around 2 p.m. He was wearing a black baseball hat with white writing, a gray Rockies shirt, black jeans, black hightop Nike shoes and a gray Sean John jacket, according to release from the Aurora Police Department.

He does not have any means of transportation or any form of identification. He cognitively functions at an adolescent level and can become aggressive in public, police said. He requires medication.

Police said he is a black male, standing around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and short brown hair.

Mazique has family in New York.
