Aurora police trying to identify suspect in fatal weekend shooting

AURORA, Colo. — Police are looking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a fatal shooting outside an Aurora 7-Eleven.

On Sunday around 1:30 p.m., Aurora police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of E. Alameda Avenue and S. Potomac Street.

Officers were able to determine that the shooting had occurred outside of a 7-Eleven at 13690 E. Alameda Ave., across the street from Bicentennial Park. 

A local hospital alerted the police department that several people had made their way to the hospital for treatment of apparent gunshot wounds, and officers responded to the hospital.

One of the people died at the hospital. It was unclear how many others were injured.

Members of the Aurora Police Department’s Major Crimes/Homicide Unit is investigating, alongside detectives to identify a suspect or suspects.
