Police: Suspect and victim believed to be homeless

AURORA, Colo. - Police say a suspicious death near the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora may be a homicide.

The body was found in a grassy area near at 992 Potomac St. That is parallel to Interstate 225, between East Colfax and 6th avenues, said Officer Crystal McCoy with the Aurora Police Department. That's close to the Ronald McDonald House.

Police got the call at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, McCoy said.

Sunday morning, police told Denver7 they had a person of interest in custody on unrelated warrants. Investigators said they believe the victim and the person in custody were both homeless.

The victim is a middle-aged man, investigators said, but no other details were available.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the death.
