AURORA, Colo. — One man is dead after a shooting at the Radiant Inn in Aurora.

The Aurora Police Department responded to 10905 E. Colfax Avenue around 4:22 a.m. Monday for a report of a shooting.

A 47-year-old man was found dead in a room from a gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later in the day Monday, investigators arrested the brother of the victim, Jimmy Lee Churchill, 33. He's facing charges of first-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Investigators believe the brothers got into a verbal altercation in the motel room before the shooting occurred.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name at a later time.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 to leave an anonymous tip.

Churchill is being held at the Aurora Detention Center on a no bond hold.
