Arvada police locate missing 82-year-old man who has cognitive impairment

UPDATE | 8:30 a.m. — Arvada police say they located Philip Ralph Pomponio locked outside of his vehicle near Lyons, which was the opposite direction of where he expected to be driving.


ARVADA, Colo. — An 82-year-old man with a cognitive impairment has been missing since Thursday afternoon when he left his Arvada home in his car but never arrived at his destination.

According to the Arvada Police Department, Philip Ralph Pomponio left his home in Arvada around 4:30 p.m. Thursday in a white 1998 Ford Ranger to head to his ex-wife's home in Littleton. But he never arrived.

The car's license plate number is 568-PLF.

According to a flyer from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, he has a cognitive impairment.

He was last seen wearing brown pants and a jacket.

Pomponio is described as a white man standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
