Arrest made in hit-and-run of Thornton student who was in wheelchair

THORNTON, Colo. – Police have made an arrest in an alleged hit-and-run of a student who was in a wheelchair on Tuesday.

Peter A. Kennedy, 67, of Thornton, is accused of the hit-and-run and careless driving, according to Thornton police.

The crash, which involved an Ford F-150 pickup truck, happened Tuesday morning in the 9300 block of York Street, near the York International School. Police said the incident was an injury accident, but more details about the student's condition were not released.
