ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Have you seen Zach's bike?
Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office asked that question on its Twitter account Tuesday morning in an effort to help a young boy in the community.
On Monday, Zach Gallagher, a 12-year-old boy with autism, rode his new bike to Newton Middle School along E. Arapahoe Road in Littleton and accidentally left it next to a yellow sign that read, "Free Furniture." He walked away for a moment, but by the time he returned, a truck had already swung by and picked up the bike, according to the sheriff's office.
His new yellow helmet was also left behind and picked up by somebody in the truck.
The sheriff's office is now asking whoever took the bike and helmet to return them, and said that person will not face any charges since no crime was committed.
The bike is a silver Trex with orange neon letters.
