AURORA, Colo. – An Aurora police officer suffered minor injuries after a suspected drunk driver struck the back of her police car around midnight Friday, officials said. It was the second straight week that an Aurora police car has been hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The crash on Friday happened at East Hampden Avenue and South Uravan Street in Aurora. The officer was investigating an accident when the suspect, Angela Goodteacher, 46, hit the back of her car, police spokesman Matt Longshore said.
Goodteacher, who was uninjured, was taken into custody on charges of DUI and careless driving.
This incident marks the 2nd crash in only a week that one of our police cars have been struck by a #DrunkDriver. Unfortunately, one of our officers did sustain minor injuries but will be okay.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but is OK. She was in her police car when the crash happened.
Last week, a suspected drunk driver crashed into two Aurora police cruisers near the intersection of 38th Street and Chambers. One car was totaled and the other damaged, but no officers were injured.
