DENVER — An Adams County deputy is on leave while he faces investigation for allegedly exposing himself to a woman while he was off-duty.

A spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Timothy Gallegos, 35, is on paid administrative leave. He’s been with the sheriff’s office since 2013.

According to an affidavit from the Westminster Police Department, a woman called 911 on Sept. 21 and said a man pulled up next to her in a green Toyota 4Runner SUV while she was walking along Samuel Drive near Jordan Drive and asked her where Walmart was while exposing his genitals.

The woman walked away from the car and moments later, he pulled alongside her again and asked if she needed a ride, touching himself as he did so, according to the affidavit.

Deputies responded and located an SUV matching the description and license plate number provided by the victim in the area of Pecos Street and Del Norte Drive and made contact with the driver, identified as Gallegos. Gallegos told deputies he had been fishing nearby.

By using cell phone location data and security camera footage, investigators were able to confirm that Gallegos was in the area of Samuel Drive and Jordan Drive when the alleged exposure incident took place, according to the affidavit.

Gallegos faces charges of public indecency and indecent exposure.

The Westminster Police Department is investigating the case.
