ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a fugitive who slipped out of his ankle monitor and disappeared.

Deshawn Avila-Baros, 21, was out on bond awaiting trial for the charges of criminal attempt murder in the first degree, sexual assault and assault, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Avila-Baros is required to wear a GPS-linked ankle monitor as a condition of his bond, but the sheriff’s office received a notification Thursday morning that he removed the device.

His last known location was in the area of the 500 block of South Perry Street in Denver.

The fugitive is described as a 5-feet, 10-inches-tall Hispanic male and weighs about 230 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Deputies are asking the public to call 911 if they spot Avila-Baros or know his whereabouts.
