AURORA, Colo. – A Colorado dispensary chain is pulling certain vape pens from its shelves.

Medicine Man, which operates five dispensaries in Colorado, has stopped selling vaping products with chemical additives propylene glycol and vitamin E acetate.

Nationwide, vape products are seeing a 15% drop in sales, although Medicine Man is the first Colorado chain to announce it is pulling products.

In an email to Denver7, the CEO said the company only pulled "a small number of vape cartridges" and that “there is no proof that this product is harmful and it is not related to the recent vape deaths (those were primarily black market products), we just did this so that our customers only receive un-cut products.”

While Medicine Man is calling for other dispensaries to pull the products, Denver7 contacted some of the largest chains in Colorado to see if they are going to, and not one company responded with a comment.

Medicine man's CEO would not comment about what specific products are being pulled, and the CEO said they are "not releasing the brand names" because they don't want the companies "to sustain collateral damage from the decision."
