DENVER - It’s time again to save some stomach space for some of the best food Colorado has to offer.

This Labor Day weekend will kick off the 33rd year of The Taste of Colorado, the state’s biggest food festival.

More than 50 food booths, music, shopping and fun will be on hand for this weekend’s festival held at Civic Center Park downtown. Here is what you need to know if you are planning on attending.

1. Free admission
There is no such thing as a free lunch, but you can get pretty close. Admission to the festival is free but you will have to purchase tickets to get your grub on. You can buy 15 tickets for $10.

2. Parking
Many of us who own automobiles know, downtown parking is something earned, not given. So you will probably be better off taking RTD or an Uber/Lyft to the event. RTD says several routes will be affected .

3. There’s a map
The Taste (what the cool kids call it) offers a map of the festival on its website . Just like a pirate’s map, it will point you to the all the treasures the festival has to offer.

4. Expect lines
You will encounter many, many lines at the popular festival, but the wait will be worth it!

5. Not just food
Although there will be plenty of tasty unique offerings, there is more to this festival than food. There will be  concerts every day of the event and carnival rides for the kids . Also, plenty of booths are offering items for sale.

6. Street closures
A festival this big needs room, so there will plenty of street closures to accommodate.

7. Dog’s DO know it’s bacon
With all the delicious food being prepared and offered at the festival, your dog’s nose will get overworked. Festival organizers are asking that you keep you pets home .
