The latest and greatest iPhone X will hit stores this Friday, Nov. 3. Before you jump at the newest smartphone, check the one in your pocket. Chances are your phone already has some helpful functions you don't use or don't know are there.

Below are some simple smartphone hacks for you to know about:

1. Low Battery

Apple masters at Best Buy said plugging in your phone every night while you sleep makes your battery weaker over time from being able to hold a charge. They said your battery is healthiest when it's between 20 and 80 percent. Experts recommend you plugging in your phone before it's empty and unplugging it before it's fully charged. You should also be aware of unnecessary apps such as WiFi and GPS draining your battery - Use the Siri function to turn both WiFi and Maps off when you are not using them.

2. Low Signal

If you have low signal, the airplane mode button is your friend. You can access airplane mode through the settings button. If you switch the mode off and back on, your signal should return.

3. Lost & Found

If you are afraid of misplacing or losing your phone, you can take a picture of an emergency contact phone number and/or email and make that your phone's lock screen - That way if someone finds it, they can call the number on the screen to help return your phone to you.

4. Storage

One of the hidden storage eaters on your phone is applications you don't use. You can go into your settings and clear out the apps you do not touch anymore. If you have an Android phone, experts said you may be able to export pictures and videos to an external micro SD card to free up some space. Another option is to store in a cloud such as iCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive. Experts said you can access cloud storage for free or for a cheap price.

5. Taking Pictures

With earbuds plugged into your phone, you can press the volume up or down button on your earphones to snap a picture.

6. Speaker

If you are without a Bluetooth speaker, grab a coffee cup and put your phone inside. The music will amplify to make your phone's speaker sound louder.

7. Emergency Charging

For emergency charging, use a phone cord to plug into a television or computer's USB port.
