DENVER — Here are seven things to do this weekend across the Denver area. Stay safe out there and don’t forget your mask!
· Shop, frolic and play at the Cherry Creek Holiday Market from Nov. 19 – Nov. 23. Located just west of 1st Ave. and Cherry Creek Shopping Center, Fillmore Plaza will be blocked off to traffic between 1st and 2nd Avenue to hold the 1st annual Cherry Creek Holiday Market. Enjoy 30 local markers, designers and creators present a one-stop -shopping experience for all of your gift needs this holiday season.
· Adventure Golf presents Holiday Lights Mini Golf. During the holiday season, they transform all three of their miniature golf courses into a beautiful light display with over 100,000 magical holiday-themed lights creating a tradition you won’t want to miss. Check out their website to learn more!
· This Saturday, Nov. 14, Outlets at Castle Rock will be celebrating their Annual Tree Lighting. Santa himself will help light the center’s 55-foot holiday tree for the very first time shortly after sunset. Bring your camping chairs and grab a spot – 6 feet apart, of course. There will be plenty of space in the parking lot (which will be blocked off for the event). Hot cocoa will be available for purchase as well.
· From now until Dec. 4, you can drop off your leaves for FREE. Denver LeafDrop is a seasonal program offered by Denver Recycles that turns leaves into compost. The final compost product is made available at a discounted price to Denver residents at the Mulch Giveaway and Compost Sale each May. · Ready to get up-close and personal with things that go bump in the night? Check out Distortions of Monster World, where surprises (and monsters!) meet you at every corner and open doors lead you on an out-of-this-world interactive adventure. · The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will open its renovated “Space Odyssey” exhibition on Friday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. Future astronauts and inquisitive humans will have a place to discover answers to out of this world questions like, “How do we know how many stars are in our galaxy when we can’t see them all?” “How do you put the brakes on in space?” and, “How do we know what the far side of the moon looks like if it never faces earth?” The years-long project was guided by community input, which orbited around the theme of “How do we know what we know about space?”
