DENVER – Good morning everyone! Here are 5 things you need to know for Tuesday, Aug. 8.

1. Taylor Swift trial continues

Day 2 of the trial involving Taylor Swift and a former Denver radio DJ accused of groping her before a 2013 concert gets underway Tuesday morning with more jury selection, which is expected to wrap by noon.

2. Windsor Mill update from ATF

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will join a national response team and local crews from Windsor to provide an update on the Sunday morning fire at Windsor Mill, which destroyed the 118-year-old historic structure.

The news conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. and will be streamed live.

3. ADAPT protesters back in court

Disability advocates from ADAPT who were arrested after a three-day sit-in at Sen. Cory Gardner’s downtown Denver offices in late June will be back in court after pleading not guilty to trespassing charges late last month.

There is a rally ahead of the court hearing at 7:30 a.m., which advocates and several state politicians are expected to attend.

5. Warmer today but still on the cooler side

The weather will be a little warmer than Monday, but expect to see a few scattered showers in the afternoon and a chance of storms. Temperatures will likely top out in the high 70s.
