5 Things to Know: July 4, 2017

DENVER -- Good morning and happy 4th! Here's what you need to know today, Tuesday July 4.

1. Fourth of July celebrations

2. Holiday closures
All government offices -- state, local and federal, will be closed today. Mail delivery will resume normal operations Wednesday. Most banks will also be closed in observance of the holiday.

3. I-70 back open after truck fire
Interstate 70 is back open near Colorado Mills after a semi caught fire late Monday. It's not clear what caused the truck to go up in flames.

4. Hot and dry for the 4th
It will be hot and dry today with highs in the low 90s. This pattern will continue the rest of the week.

5. Fires rage in Colorado
Officials are warning residents about the use of illegal fireworks as the crews across the state battle several fires amid dry conditions.
