Good morning. Here are 5 Things to Know for Monday, July 30, 2018.

1. Ready for some cooler weather?

You're in luck. Today's high will hover in the mid- to high-70s in Denver. Those in western Colorado won't be so lucky, though — the highs in that area will reach the upper 90s today around Grand Junction. Here's the full forecast

2. Police investigating officer-involved shooting and death in home

Aurora police said a man was shot and killed near E. Montview Boulevard and Lola Street early Monday. A deceased person was found inside a nearby home. This is a developing story and we will update it here as we get more information.

3. Tornado damage from the weekend

Several tornados touched down in Colorado this weekend. The National Weather Service in Boulder will conduct storm damage surveys across Morgan and Washington Counties today. Those damage assessments are expected to be released this afternoon or tonight.

4. Trump says he's willing to close the government

On Sunday, the president Tweeted "I would be willing to 'shut down' government if the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall!" Some Republicans said they are worried this move could compromise their control of Congress.

5. It's National Cheesecake Day!

And if you're looking for a way to celebrate this sweet "holiday," The Cheesecake Factory is offering half-price slices of cheesecake at any of its 198 locations in the United States. Enjoy!
