AURORA, Colo. – A 3-year-old child was fatally struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a wedding venue in Aurora on Saturday night, police said.
The vehicle was driving through the parking lot at 2025 North Tower Road about 7:30 p.m. when it hit the child, who had been left unattended, according to police. The child, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.
Aurora police traffic units were investigating the incident. Police said no alcohol was involved.
The driver of the vehicle is not expected to face charges. The case will be sent to the district attorney's office to determine whether the parents of the child will face charges, police said.
