WELD COUNTY, Colo. – Two people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in rural Weld County Wednesday night.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred around 8 p.m. on state Route 392 and Weld County Road 29.

Troopers say the driver of the 2003 Ford SUV, a 34-year-old man from Denver, went off the shoulder of the highway and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll down an embankment and into a tree.

Both the driver and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman from Fort Collins, were pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say both were buckled in.

Investigators with the CSP are looking into speed and alcohol as possible factors.

The names of the victims have not been released.
