Two firefighters were injured after battling a blaze at a home in Cherry Hills Village Saturday afternoon, a South Metro Fire spokesperson confirmed with 7NEWS.

The fire was reported at around 1 p.m. at 29 Sedgwick Drive, northeast of the Cherry Creek County Club.

While a person inside the home was able to escape from the flames, two firefighters were injured while on the job, but 7NEWS was not immediately able to confirm how the firefighters were injured. The two firefighters were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

7NEWS reporter Eric Lupher was at the scene of the fire, and said there was major damage to the back of the home. No damage estimates from the fire were available at the time of publication.
