DENVER – Denver’s downtown pedestrian mall was the scene of yet another attack Tuesday evening.

Denver Police say a man was arrested after they say he assaulted at least two people on the 16th Street Mall around 5 p.m. The suspect has yet to be identified by police.

The extent of the victims’ injuries is not known. However, they reportedly did not need to be transported to the hospital. Video from the scene shows the suspect being loaded into an ambulance.

The circumstances surrounding the attacks weren’t immediately clear. A DPD spokesperson could not say what may have provoked the suspect or if the attack appeared to be random when Denver7 contacted the department later in the evening.

Tuesday’s incident is just one of many as downtown officials and police grapple with a rash in violence on the popular mall over the past couple of years.

Private security officers were brought in and police have increased patrols in the area in an effort to curb the apparent increase in crime.
