BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. -- A 19-month-old child nearly drowned in a pool in Boulder County, sheriff's deputies said Saturday.

The child was discovered in a pool by family members at around 1:30 p.m. and was rescued, but was reportedly not breathing, according to Boulder County Sheriff's Office Cmdr. Mike Wanger.

First responders were called and after performing CPR on the child, the child was found to have a pulse. The child was then taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

"The circumstances on how the child entered the pool security enclosure at the hoe are not known, but it is believed that the toddler was in the water no longer than one or two minutes at most," Wagner said.

Deputies are still investigating the accident.
