WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- Hundreds of people gathered at Lifetime Fitness in Westminster on Sunday morning to support the family devastated by a fatal road-rage shooting two months ago.

Families, friends and community members continue to raise money to support the Bigelow family as mother Meghan Bigelow and youngest son Asa recover in the hospital.

Members of the Lifetime Tri Team organized the 5K event with contributions from the local community. Father, Vaughn Sr., stopped by during race setup on Sunday morning. A recent online silent auction also raised money for the Bigelow family.

Among the crowd at the 5K race were members of Vaughn Jr.’s water polo team. Vaughn Jr. died in the shooting incident on June 14. The Rocky Mountain Neptunes water polo team made shirts that say “Water Polo With Altitude, For Vaughn.” The team recently wore them on a water polo tournament trip in Northern California.
