Thornton approves Topgolf project at I-25 & 136th

THORNTON, Colo. -- The Thornton City Council has approved a preliminary plan to build a Topgolf location near Interstate 25 and 136th.

Topgolf bills itself as an entertainment and event venue with golf games, food and drinks, music and more.

Some residents at the city council meeting protested the 64,000-square foot complex because they're worried about the lights, music and late-night operation.

City officials said TopGolf has agreed to change its lighting and will abide by the city's noise ordinances.
