Pedestrian dies in crash on US 36 late Saturday night

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. -- A pedestrian is dead following a crash near U.S. 36 and Lefthand Canyon Drive late Saturday night.

The Colorado State Patrol said the person was in the roadway when they were hit by a car sometime 9:45 p.m. The driver stayed on scene and called 911.

The pedestrian's identity has not been released. CSP said it is too early to know if there will be charges associated with the crash.

Both directions os US 36 were closed for hours while CSP combed the scene of the crash.
