2 dead in apparent murder/suicide in Littleton

Two people are dead following an apparent murder/suicide at a Littleton apartment complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Littleton Police got a call for a medical assist in the area of E. Powers Ave. and S. Broadway at around 3 p.m. Because the crime took place near Littleton High School, the building was placed on a brief lockout which has since been lifted.

When officers and medics got to the scene, they found David Michael Fallon, 45, dead and Christina Sue Benton, 38, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to a hospital but later died as a result of her injuries. Police are awaiting a warrant and cannot say if this is a murder/suicide or who made the call to police, according to Littleton Police Commander Trent Cooper.
