LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Dozens of volunteers are searching the area near Green Mountain for any sign of a missing Lakewood paramedic.

Police have asked for the public's help in finding Eric Pracht, 25, who disappeared after a party at his home Friday night.

Since then, his family and friends have been organizing search parties every day.

"We are canvassing every area around the last known location of where he was," said Jerrica Pracht, Eric Pracht's sister-in-law. "The more people that want to join us, the better.  We are still actively looking for Eric and we really appreciate anybody and everybody that is able to come help with it."

Jerrica said Eric's cell phone came on briefly after he disappeared, and that has helped them narrow the search to the Green Mountain area.

Lakewood police said Eric Pracht got into a heated debate with a friend Friday night, but it did not become physical.

When he and his girlfriend went to take out the trash, he went for a walk, and that was the last time anyone saw him.

"This isn't Eric. He is dearly loved. He is a paramedic, and being a paramedic is his life and he takes that very serious, helping other people," said Jerrica Pracht. "And we just want those people to try to come and help us as well."

She said family and friends are still hopeful that Eric will be found, but on the fifth day since he disappeared, they are more and more worried.

"Just knowing you have a loved on and you don’t know where they are," said Pracht. "It’s a helpless situation, but we’re just trying to stay positive and stay strong and be here for Eric when we do find him."
