FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- This story about a Colorado girl and her perseverance to follow her dreams will inspire you.
Detective Jason with the Fort Collins Police Department recently met a young girl and was struck by her perseverance to follow her passion, "even in the midst of some difficult circumstances," the police department posted on Facebook.
As it turns out, the young girl frequently goes to school early and stays late to practice using a school violin -- and that's when Detective Jason realized he needed to step in to help.
Learning that a co-worker's daughter was selling her violin, Detective Jason reached out to police and other colleagues and asked if they would be willing to pitch in and help buy one for her.
In less than two hours, the department was able to gather enough money to buy a violin and surprised the girl with a violin of her own. Now, she won't have to get up really early or stay really late at school to practice her craft.
"To this amazing young lady, thank you for inspiring us with your passion and perseverance. We hope this instrument brings joy to your life for many years to come!' said the police department.
