Woman formally charged in Colfax crash that injured 6; Emily Strock accused of running red light

DENVER - Denver prosecutors have formally charged a woman with vehicular assault after they said she ran a red light and crashed into another car injuring six people.

On July 21, Emily Strock, 23, was driving at a high-rate of speed eastbound on Colfax Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. when she went through a red light and collided with another vehicle traveling southbound on Speer Boulevard, according to the Denver District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said the charges further allege that Strock was under the influence of marijuana at the time.

The charges against Strock include two counts of vehicular assault, four counts of assault, one count of driving under the influence of drugs and one count of failure to show proof of insurance.

Strock has been released from custody on $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County court on August 5, to be formally advised of the charges.
