The world-wide hacking organization known as ‘Anonymous’ is now making a more direct and personal threat toward the City of Denver’s highest elected leader -- The Mayor.
“Greetings Mayor Michael Hancock, we have been waiting for you to respond for our most recent request, but we find ourselves growing impatient with your foot dragging,” said the person in the Anonymous video.
In a newly released video, the organization details the 2011 allegations that Hancock was linked to a prostitution ring known as the Denver Players Club.
Those allegations were never proven to be true.
In the video, the group asks for the city to repeal the camping ban and homeless sweeps and ultimately asks the mayor to step down.
“We are now asking for you to restore the rights of the homeless, nay, demanding and resign as an elected official,” said the person in the Anonymous video.
Denver7 reached out to the mayor’s office, which didn’t want to comment for our story. Denver7 reached out to the Downtown Denver Partnership, which was named in previous Anonymous videos, but the DDP declined to comment.
Councilman Albus Brooks is also named in a previous Anonymous video. Brooks told Denver7, he has not received any specific direct threats.
