Denver Police are investigating a possible abduction of a girl near a school in West Highland Thursday afternoon.
The possible abduction is being investigated near the area of Tennyson Street and W. 37th Avenue, not far from Cesar Chavez Academy. However, a school spokesperson said all of their students are accounted for.
One of the school's students reported seeing something off-campus, but no adults have been able to confirmed the children's report. The perimeter of the school was secured, but officials said everything was normal inside the building.
“I was actually relieved that the school was already blocked off and that the officers were already here to make sure that all the students went home with their parents," said parent Taniesha Roy.
The victim of the possible abduction is being described as a Hispanic girl, between 9 and 10 years old with brown, shoulder-length hair. The suspect is being described as a Hispanic man with a shaved head, a thin build and wearing a black, sleeveless shirt with black pants and shoes.
Denver Publics School sent the following statement in response to the investigation:
Dear Parents and Community,
On Thursday afternoon, Denver Public Schools' Department of Safety was notified by Denver Police of a possible child abduction near Cesar Chavez Academy in Northwest Denver. Police said four students, all aged 9, reported observing what appeared to be a child of similar age being pulled into a van. Denver Police and DPS Safety responded immediately and have been on scene for much of the afternoon.
DPS Safety contacted principals of all schools in the area and those principals conducted student head counts, confirming all children in attendance today were present.
At this time, police are continuing to investigate the possible abduction.

The suspect was last seen in a white panel van with rear windows.
