DENVER -- The FBI is looking for a wig-wearing woman accused of robbing five banks in the last month.
The FBI has nicknamed her the "Wicked Wig of the West."
"The bandit has been targeting banks exclusively in Safeway/Albertsons grocery stores, including one Chase, one First and three Wells Fargo banks," the FBI said in a statement sent to Denver7. "She always enters wearing a wig and sunglasses in disguise and demands money, threatening to use a gun."
The FBI said the woman has not yet shown a gun, but officials consider her armed and dangerous.
The robberies started August 23. The latest was Monday. The robberies have happened in Denver, Northglenn and Wheat Ridge.
Officials are calling her an "unlikely" bank robber, because statistics show most bank robbers are men.
Wells Fargo is offering a reward up to a $5,000, in addition to the $2,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers, for any tips that lead to her identification and arrest.
If you recognize her, call Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867/720-913-STOP.
