ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A regional trail along the west side of E-470 was recently built in Arapahoe County, but the thing is that it doesn't have a name.
Now, Arapahoe County officials hope you can help them name the trail through the Democratic process of an online poll.
The trail, which officials say is a “tremendous asset” to the community as it would eventually connect the E-470 trail with the Cherry Creek Trail to the south and the Plains Conservation Center to the north, is not without a few options for the name.
The following names were provided for you to choose from:
- High Plains Trail
- Long View Trail
- Pioneer Trail
- Prairie Trail
- Heritage Trail
- Bison Beltway

Is E-470 building a bike path to nowhere?
The project currently runs from Quincy to south to Ireland Way, leaving about a 2.5-mile gap of pretty much nothing.
The final connecting piece of the trail is now in the hands of the local governments, including the Town of Parker.
Completion of that part of the trail could take about five years.
