CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Five miles of the Interstate 25 Gap project in Douglas County will be completed this fall, Colorado Department of Transportation officials announced this week.

The stretch between Plum Creek Parkway in Castle Rock and Sky View Lane near Larkspur should be finished by November.

CDOT, the Colorado State Patrol and Kraemer North America are holding a telephone townhall Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to give residents a full update on the construction progress.

The Gap Project is a major construction project on an 18-mile stretch from Monument to Castle Rock. The project was estimated to cost $350 million and improve traffic flow through the busy corridor between the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs.

The project will add express lanes, wider shoulders, new bridges and wildlife crossings, among other upgrades.
