BROOMFIELD, Colo. — BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Since Monday, Great Scott’s Eatery in Broomfield has been operating under Level Yellow guidelines, allowing them to offer indoor dining at a 50% capacity after they were accepted into the state's 5-star program.
"The food is very good, the wait staff is excellent and the managers do their job," said Jolene Quigley, who has been eating at Great Scott's for 20 years.
"50% is manageable but obviously being at 50% now, we’re at half at our tables, so 15 instead of 30-something tables, which on a normal day like today pre-covid we’d have four or five servers on the floor and today we’re running two," said owner Justin Abrams.
The mayor of Broomfield says more businesses could be approved into the five-star-program in the coming days.
"45 total businesses so far, 22 were inspected and approved last Friday and began operating on Monday," Mayor Patrick Quinn said. "As you noted, three days in and then eight more will be approved or reviewed on Friday at our administrative meeting."
As other counties wait on their approval into the program, Broomfield is on its way to returning to a sense of normalcy for businesses and patrons.
"We want people to feel safe when they come out and eat and enjoy the normal dinner experience, comfort food and good atmosphere,"Abrams said.
