A Boulder man is being identified as the victim of a skydiving accident in Arizona.

Witnesses said 34-year-old Geoffrey Loy was descending when his parachute appeared to collapse on Thursday afternoon, causing him to fall rapidly to the ground.

Loy reportedly had about 12 years of skydiving experience with approximately 500 jumps.

Loy was jumping with Skydive Arizona in Eloy, Arizona, about 60 miles south of Phoenix.

Federal Aviation Administration officials were at the scene to investigate the accident.

On New Year's Eve, a 37-year-old Utah man died while attempting to carry out a skydiving jump at Skydive Arizona.
