Aurora man turns in wallet with $4,000 to police, who then turned it over to its owner

AURORA, Colo. -- A woman is reunited with her wallet after she lost it with more than $4,000 inside.

A man found the lost wallet in his apartment complex parking lot. He made the decision to turn it in to the Aurora Police Headquarters. Police officers were then able to contact the owner of the wallet and get it returned to her.

“I don’t expect something in return, just wanted to do it because it makes me feel good and I know its the right thing to do," said Zack Shields, the man who returned the wallet.

Recently, Shields was offered a teaching job as the Assistant Instrumental Director at Ralston Valley High School.

“Being a teacher, I want to instill that into my students of having respect for other people’s goods and just doing what is the right thing to do," said Shields.
