Cyclist In Lakewood Hit-And-Run Dies

A cyclist hit by a car in Lakewood earlier this week has died.

Kenneth Kienzle, 58, was struck by a car on South Wadsworth Boulevard, just south of West Ohio Avenue, Wednesday morning.

He was found lying on the roadway around 4:45 a.m., his bicycle about 15 feet away, in the weeds. He was declared brain dead on Thursday and died Friday, police said.

Police have arrested 22-year-old Catherine Bean, who owns a badly dented silver Subaru which was towed from her home on Wednesday.

Bean called police about 45 minutes after the accident and told police she believed she hit something with her car but didn't know what it was.

Bean is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, careless driving and driving under the influence.

Kienzle's death means charges of vehicular homicide will be added against Bean.
